Lockman/Nelms Wedding & Reception

This past Saturday, April 7th, we hosted the Lockman/Nelms Wedding and Reception. It was so much fun to help Jenna and Matt plan their wedding. The theme was "shabby chic", with lots of ivory, blush, and green. It was beautiful! Check it out!

We did the ceremony in the Glassroom. It could not have been a prettier day! The light was so beautiful. That's our arch right there!

The arch had some help from Flower Express, and it was simply stunning!

The chairs had some really pretty floral "cones", which were perfect for the theme.

We used our in-house display table for a really unique, interactive guest book.

The guests used the ink to put finger prints on the picture so they looked like leaves. Then, the guests wrote their names next to their finger print! How cute!

The gift table greeted guests as they walked into the Ballroom.

Speaking of the Ballroom...it looked amazing!

The tables had more amazing flowers, they looked perfect!

Remember these? Wedding themed "cootie catchers" were on every table for some old-school fun!

Every place setting had a menu and a baseball card in honor of the groom's favorite hobby.

The cake was just gorgeous! More flowers made it the focal point of the room.

Oh, but the groom's cake! We had a little sod left over from our Easter Egg Hunt, so we added that little something extra to the home plate!

Wow! Those are actually cupcakes! Can you believe it?!

Oh, but the candy table! This was truly amazing!

It was just beautiful! Perfect day, perfect place, perfect wedding!

Anne Martin and Lacey's Sweet 16

Last night, we hosted Anne Martin and Lacey's Duet Sweet Sixteen Party in the Glassroom! Everything was just so cute I had to take lots of pictures!

Right outside the Glassroom, the girls' gift tables displayed portraits to be signed with birthday wishes.

These girls had been best friends since they were three!

We used "4-tops" in the Glassroom for a fun party atmosphere. On the tables, we used our white linen and the girls' moms brought in some colorful fabric and flowers.

Here's another shot of the room. It looked so cute and bright!

It wasn't you typical buffet! We used round chaffers for something a little different. The guests were treated to heavy hors d'oeuvres, which is great for those laid-back parties!

The tables were decorated with confetti, flowers, and candy.

Here's a close-up!

Like a lot of our Glassroom parties, the patio became the dance floor. The girls' moms did a great job making sure the patio was incorporated into the decor.

The tent on the patio was no exception! The lanterns looked so cute up there!

Once again, our friends at Faboo Cakes did an awesome job on the cake!

We love candy bars! This one looked delicious!

Our friends at Snyder Entertainment were also there! Photo booths are PERFECT for Sweet Sixteens! Each photo is put into a scrapbook and signed by the guests for a one-of-a-kind keepsake for both of the girls to remember their party!

These props were available for the guests to use in their photos.

A video of the girls through the years played continually on our projector, screen, DVD player, and speakers.

Looking to celebrate a special milestone? Contact Kat Baumgartner at 615-824-6528 to start your party planning process! Book by the end of July and receive either a complimentary fruit, vegetable cheese display for one hour OR a complimentary champagne toast!

The Candy "Bar"

The biggest trend we have noticed at Bluegrass is the addition of the candy bar to the wedding sweets offerings. Some couples seem to be more into color coordination, while others are more concerned about having their own favorite candies. Either way, it’s a great whimsical feature! Here's some things we've been seeing around the club:

1) Personalized M&M’s.
It’s amazing how versatile these little bite-sized candies are! Now you can go to http://www.mymms.com/ and choose from an array of colors. You can also add phrases to your M&M’s or even the date of your wedding. And yes, you can put you and your beloved’s faces on the candies. I’m not sure how I feel about my friends eating my face, but I’ve seen more than a few so far.

2) Ribbon

Adding a pretty ribbon around your candy jars is a great way to add some color to your candy bar. No need to spend an hour at the candy store matching each jelly bean to your swatches. Just run up to your local craft store and pick one color ribbon and then stock up on Godiva chocolates, Hershey kisses, or even mints!

3) Don’t forget the details
It’s always important to include something for your guest to put the candy in. This could be as simple as a Dixie cup (they actually make cute ones now!) or a little drawstring bag. I have seen a few with little monogrammed boxes for the guests to take home. You also want to make sure there is something that allows the guest to get the candy out of the container. Little miniature scoops can be coordinated with a little bow or tongs are great for those candies already in wrappers. Of course, keep in mind that those little munchkins are sure to be the ones most fascinated with your candy bar. Make sure that everything is accessible for the smaller guests at your reception.

Bluegrass will be happy to set-up your candy bar for you! Just drop everything off and we will take just one more thing from your to-do list!
