2012 Ramble Dinner

Last weekend was our Ramble! This is our Annual Member/Guest golf tournament and we were ready to impress our Members and their Guests with the best Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club has to offer! This three day event is quite impressive! One might think that this is all about the golf. As the Private Events Director, it is my job to make sure that the ladies in attendance feel welcomed as well. In this post and the next, I will be featuring two events that we really took up a notch or two.
On Friday night, we hosted the Ramble Dinner. This event gives the participants the chance to take their date out to a fabulous seated dinner at the club and spend the night dancing away in the Ballroom!

In keeping with our logo, I went with blue, white, and pops of yellow. Thanks to our friends at Fabulous Events, We got some floor-length blue matte satin cloths, white chair covers, and ultra-wide blue satin sashes. The napkins are our own in-house linens. We kept it simple yet elegant with a great summer feel!

We used all of our own in-house centerpieces for the event. With some fresh florals, golf balls, and tees, we created these fun centerpieces that kept in the theme of the weekend.

We served a lovely three course meal on Friday night. Here's the menu!

I was able to grab a couple of pictures of the salads as they were being served to give you the full effect!

We treated our Members and Guests to a gourmet coffee bar, it looked great!

So far, everyone has been in agreement that it was a great weekend! Congratulations to Chris Boger (and Happy Birthday!) and  Sam Brasili- our 2012 Ramble Champions!

Ramble- Ladies in Pearls Luncheon

Following the Ramble Dinner on Friday night, the men went and played more golf... but the ladies got treated to a culinary experience in the Glassroom! Our Ladies in Pearls Lunch was completely different from anything else we have done for the Ramble. Instead of your standard plated meal, the Members and Guests were treated to a fantastic six course tasting.

In keeping with the "Pearl" theme, the Glassroom looked great with white and ivory. Ivory pintuck overlays, chair chair covers, and ivory satin sashes mixed together the different shades perfectly. With the fantastic weather just outside the windows, the Glassroom was set to impress!

For centerpieces, we used some white hydrangeas and of course, pearls! Being that the courses were going to be coming out on platters, we wanted to make sure that there was plenty of room in the center of the table. The result was very elegant, ladylike centerpieces.

The place settings showcased the elegant menu. I folded the napkins like this so that the ladies wouldn't know what their gift was until they opened their napkin!

Surprise! A set of pearl earrings! These pearls came from Love the Pearls, and we are looking forward to putting together a great event down the road with them soon!

The menu turned out great, both the paper version and the actual food! I used ivory linen paper and printed a lightened Bluegrass logo on the bottom part. (This creates the "watermark" look.) Then, the menu was printed on vellum paper and them tied with a little ivory bow to keep it together.

The event turned out great! The food was great, the atmosphere was awesome, and the company, of course, couldn't have been better!
