We can only hope to spend 50 years with our best friend. Ruth and Bill Seger are one such lucky couple. This past Saturday Ruth and Bill celebrated their milestone in our Glassroom. The event could not have been more lovely. The view from the Glassroom was just perfect. Check out the pictures!
Outside the Glassroom, a lovely portrait of the happy couple greeted guests as they signed the guest book.
The Glassroom itself was just beautiful with some help from our friends at Fabulous Events. Floor length blue tablecloths with our in-house white linen overlays coupled with white chair covers and blue organza sashes- just perfect for the fun occasion!
These elegant centerpieces were provided by The Ivy Basket.
The party continued on the patio. Last week, the patio got a mini-makeover from Golf Course Maintenance. This was the perfect event to debut the new patio!
For dessert, the guests were treated to these seven cakes provided by Anne's Cakes. Yes, SEVEN cakes! I felt like I was working at Baskin Robbins, everyone wanted a taste of each! (By the way, I DID try the strawberry and it was fantastic!)
Cakes from left to right:
Upper tier: Almond Buttercream, Chocolate (with Whoppers!), Coconut, Caramel
Lower tier: Lemon Buttercream, Red Velvet, Strawberry

Ellison/Nelson Wedding Reception
Oh yes! Wedding season is in full swing here at Bluegrass! This past weekend we held the Ellison/Nelson Wedding Reception in our Ballroom. The event was beautiful and sweet! As always, enjoy the photos!
These lovely little notes greeted the guests at their tables.
The Ballroom was decked out in ivory, purple, black, and sparkle!
The centerpieces were a mix of flowers and candles with a little extra purple mixed in. So pretty!
The theme continued with the sweetheart table.
These are getting popular!
We always make sure the buffet is looking nice for the guests!
The bar got some added sparkle!
And instead of the traditional wedding cake, the Bride opted for...cupcakes! They looked and smelled delicious. (Also a lot easier on the cake cutter...)
The Groom's cake was SO COOL! Yes, it's a CAR!
A big thanks to our friends at Faboo Cakes for making yet another masterpiece!
Just love creative guest books! This pillow sat on the piano as the guests arrived. The guests were encouraged to write their words of wisdom to the couple. What a fantastic keepsake!
Congratulations to Lindsey and Cliff! I truly hope that you live happily ever after!

Schmitt/Sartain Wedding Reception
May 5th, 2012 was a day meant for events: Cinco de Mayo, the Kentucky Derby....and the Schmitt/Sartain Wedding! I had so much fun with Kristin and Bryn helping them plan their wedding reception! It was truly a special day!
We start out in the Glassroom, where the guests were treated to a cocktail hour.
The weather was perfect outside, so the patio was a popular place to hang out while guests awaited the bride and groom.
The centerpieces were simple, yet reflected the theme that would be seen in the Ballroom later.
We brought in some of our soft seating from our lower lobby to create a lounge area.
Between the Glassroom and the Ballroom, guests were invited to browse through a photos of the couple's engagement session.
We have been seeing some creative guest books lately! This week we have a guitar! Painted by the bride, this created a great writing surface and a fun keepsake for the bride and groom.
I grabbed a picture after it was signed:
The reception followed in the Ballroom. Always a breathtaking sight!
The guests found their names written on these adorable cards wedged into wine corks!
The gift table included these cute greenery initials!
The table numbers were designated by number cut-outs and wine bottles with beautiful florals.
The sweetheart table kept the same theme.
I always recommend giving your guests something to do during the reception. A photo area was provided for the guests to get creative and create some fun memories! These props were some of the best we have seen!
The cake was a delicious buttercream beauty decorated with simple flowers.
The Groom's cake was great! I can honestly say this is the first Xbox cake I have ever seen. (By the way, it was peanut and jelly flavored! Yum!)
Favors were provided for the guests on the bar. "To have and to hold and to keep your drink cold!" Cheers to Kristin and Bryn!
It was a lovely day that couldn't have been better!
